This happened last year when I was in high school.The reason I took this risk was because I had always enjoyed playing basketball with my friends, but I had never played on an official team before. I was inspired by my favorite basketball player, LeBron James, who always talks about working hard and taking chances. I wanted to see if I could take my game to the next level and be part of the school team.When I first thought about trying out, I was really scared. I worried that I wouldn"t be good enough, that I would make mistakes, or that the other players would be much better than me. Despite these fears, I decided that not trying would be worse than failing.To prepare, I practiced every day after school, working on my shooting, dribbling, and defense. On the day of the tryouts, I was extremely nervous, but I kept telling myself that I had worked hard and that I should just do my best.The tryouts were tough, and there were many skilled players. I made a few mistakes, but I also had some good plays. When the coach announced the team list, I was thrilled to see my name on it. I had made the team!Reflecting on this experience, I felt very proud and happy. Taking this risk taught me that it"s important to try new things and not be afraid of failure.
