Topic 6: TeachersQuestion: Do you have a teacher from your past that you still remember?Answer: Yeah, of course. I have probably dozens of teachers that I still remember. I remember probably all of my teachers from secondary school in many different subjects. I remember some of my lecturers from university, although to be honest, I didn"t know them as well, so my memory of them is not as clear. I remember some, but not all, of my teachers from primary school, and I think that"s just because it was so long ago and the memories of them have been lost in the sands of time. So yeah, mostly my best memories are of the teachers in my secondary school.Question: In what way did your favourite teacher help you?Answer: Well, my favourite teacher was a teacher called Mister Barnes, and he was a French teacher. He was English, but he taught French, and he gave me the confidence to learn languages because I"d always thought that I was okay at learning languages. One day, he said to me, "I think you can be very, very good at learning languages," and that kind of changed my perception of myself. I really enjoyed his classes, and he was very kind and funny. But the biggest effect he had on me was that he changed my perception of the things I could do in my life.Question: Are you still in touch with your primary school teachers?Answer: No, unfortunately not. I haven"t seen any of them since primary school, which was more than a quarter of a century ago, so I don"t know where I would find them or where they would live. So unfortunately, no, I"m still not in touch with any of my primary school teachersQuestion: Do you want to be a teacher in the future?Answer: Well, I want... I am a teacher now, so I hope that if I continue to be a good teacher, I can still be a teacher in the future. I think if I"m not a teacher in five years, then that means something has gone wrong.
