Topic 7: A Crowded PlaceQuestion: Describe a crowded place you went to.Answer: So the crowded place that I"d like to talk about was Wembley Stadium. Wembley Stadium is the biggest and most famous football stadium in the UK. It"s in London, and it also hosts major concerts. And the time that I went there, it was actually hosting a major concert by a band called Blur. Blur are a band from the 1990s that are very famous, and people really love them. And I"m one of those people. I"m a big fan of Blur. And when they announced these two concerts at Wembley Stadium, I decided to buy a ticket. It was very exciting. This all happened last summer, and I went there with my wife. So we got two tickets in total. And so Wembley Stadium has a capacity of about 90,000 people. And to be honest, the stadium itself is very nice. But the public transport infrastructure for getting to the stadium and then getting back from the stadium is pretty limited. It"s very, very crowded on the subway. And then when you get off the subway, you have to wait a long time to get out of the station. And then you have a walk with thousands and thousands of other people to the stadium.Of course, the stadium itself is very crowded during the concert. And then when everybody leaves at the end of the concert, it can take up to 2 hours to walk about 300 metres from the stadium back to the subway. And then the subway to go home is also extremely crowded. So it was. That part of it was a bit of a negative experience, but the concert itself was very enjoyable. So in terms of my feeling about it, I"m definitely glad that I did it, but I don"t know if I would do it again because I think one time in that kind of crowd is probably enough.Question: Will there be more or less green space in cities in the future?Answer: Well, I think that"s hard to say, and I think it really depends on the city, but I would hope that it would be more because I think with global warming, cities are becoming more and more hot. And there"s very, very clear evidence that shows that if you have green areas, like lots of trees, like parks in a city, it can help to keep that city cool. Whereas if your city is just steel and concrete, then there"s nowhere for the heat to go, and the city gets hotter and hotter and becomes very uncomfortable. So I hope that there will be more green space in cities in the future.Question: Do you think there are some people who enjoy crowded places?Answer: Yeah, I think that some people do enjoy crowded places, and I think it"s because they enjoy the energy that a crowded place can give you. Some people, more like me, can find crowded places a little bit overwhelming, and it makes us feel quite tired and quite anxious. But other people take their energy, they generate energy from the crowd. So, yeah, I think different people respond to crowded places in different ways.Question: Will people use bikes more or less in cities in the future?Answer: Well, again, like the green spaces, I hope more because I think bikes are a great way to get around. They"re good exercise, but of course, it depends on the infrastructure. So if you live in a city where there are no good bike lanes and you have to cycle on very crowded roads next to cars, then of course that"s a bit dangerous, and it probably won"t be very enjoyable. But if you live in a city that has good bike lanes, that are separate, and it has good enough weather that you can cycle regularly, then it"s very enjoyable. You save money, you get fitter. So I do hope people will use bikes more, but it really depends on a lot of different factors. So we"ll have to wait and see.编辑:Moon李▼IDE英创教育
