Topic: LanguageQuestion 1: What languages can you speak?Well, I can speak English as my native language. That"s my mother tongue. And I"ve also learned Mandarin Chinese. I lived in China for nine years and I learned it there. And I can speak Spanish as well. And people tell me that I speak Spanish with a Colombian accent because my wife is Colombian. So three languages in total.Question 2: Do you think it"s difficult to learn a language?I think yes. Generally like different languages have different levels of difficulty. So for instance, for me, coming from an English speaking background, to learn Chinese was very difficult and then to learn Spanish was less difficult because English and Spanish are closer to each other. Whereas if you"re coming, let"s say from a Japanese speaking background and you want to learn Chinese, you already know some of the characters so you"ve already got a little bit of a head start, so it"s a little bit easier. But I think in general it"s always more difficult. It"s very difficult for anyone to learn any language.Question 3: Will you learn other languages in the future?I don"t know really. I"d like to improve my Spanish. It"s not quite as good as I"d like it to be, so that"s my first priority. But I would like to learn Italian. I think Italian always sounds very nice and that"s something that I"d like to be able to speak in the future. But when I"m going to have time to do that is a big question. Probably not for at least the next five years.Question 4: Why did you start to learn English?Well, for me personally, I grew up in the uk, so I learned English just from my parents and from being around.
