Topic: A Job You Would Like to DoPart 3 (Discussion):What kinds of jobs do young people not want to do in your country?Well, I think this is a very interesting question and it"s something that is in the news a lot at the moment because in the UK we have a lot of immigration, and people who have come to the UK quite recently tend to do jobs like cleaning, like driving Ubers at night. And these are jobs that young people in the UK, young British people, don"t necessarily want to do. And that would be because they might be physically difficult, they"re challenging, or they"re at unpleasant hours, like driving in the middle of the night. So there"s an argument about whether or not we should have more immigration to get more people who can do those jobs.Who is best at advising young people about choosing a job, teachers or parents?I think it"s possibly neither. It really depends on who the teacher is, who the parent is, and of course, who the young person is. But quite often the problem is that teachers don"t tend to know a great deal about the world of work outside of teaching, particularly if they have been teachers their whole lives. And parents have the problem of being a generation later, or even sometimes two generations later than their children. So what was true for the parents when they first were looking for a job, say, 30 years previously, 20 years previously, might not be true anymore. So overall, I"m not sure that either of them are the best choice. Is money always the most important thing when choosing a job?No, I don"t think so. Obviously it is important, and I think any job has to have at least enough money for you to be able to survive and hopefully be relatively comfortable. But if you"re working for free, that"s a whole different story. But it"s definitely important to balance money with job satisfaction, with enjoying the things that you do, being able to get on well with the people that you work with, the work relationships, and also balancing your ambitions. So you"ve got to balance a lot of things, I think, when you"re choosing a job.英创雅思托福教育(英创优可青少英语成长中心)编辑:Moon李▼IDE英创教育
