4. 壮志未酬Part 2Describe an ambition that you haven"t achieved  描述你未能实现的野心You should say:What it isWhy you haven"t achieved itWhat you didAnd how you felt about it示范答案：I have many ambitions in my life. But the one ambition that I am working on right now is to go for higher education in Canada. Earlier I didn"t have any plans to go abroad, but a conversation with a friend who went to Canada changed my opinion. He told me about the difference in the quality of education and the work opportunities available there. So after completing my senior secondary education, I decided that it would be the best opportunity for me. There are two main requisites to get admission in a good Canadian college. The first is good grades in senior secondary education. My grades are pretty satisfactory. So, I didn"t have to worry about that. The second is a good score in English language tests like IELTS or TOEFL. I learned that Canadian colleges give preference to IELTS and hence I am taking the IELTS exam. For the past two-three months, I have been practicing for the exam. I ordered the Cambridge books and started my preparation from them. There is a lot of free material available on the internet. So, I used that to prepare myself. I used to practice for about 8 hours every day. I used to try to cover every IELTS module twice. For listening and reading, I didn"t need much help. I just practiced the test papers and looked at my mistakes after that, so I don"t repeat them. For speaking and writing, I joined a coaching institute and their teachers helped me a lot. I hope to get good bands, so I can move ahead to the next step, which is to apply for an offer letter from a Canadian College. I don"t think it has been an easy journey. English is not my first language and I have had to practice really hard. I have not achieve it yet, but I hope the fruits of the efforts will definitely be worth the struggle. Part 31.What ambitions do children usually have?Well, it all depends. Some children admire people such as scientists, doctors and engineers who make great contributions to society, and they aspire to engage in one of these professions in the future. Some kids have an inborn talent in arts or sports, so they are ambitious to become a painter, singers or top athlete. while others" ambitions may be more related to their study, like achieving excellent academic performance or getting admitted to a prestigious university in the future. 2.Why don"t some people have dreams?Firstly, this may have something to do with their personality. Some people are easily satisfied with the status quo and have no intention to make any improvements in their study, work or life. Besides, some people used to have dreams, but they met a lot of challenges in pursuing those dreams and got frustrated with them. so they gradually gave up and become aimless people. 3.What are the important qualities to achieve our ambition?I guess the most important quality is persistence and perseverance. You have to work very hard to make progress on a daily basis. And you would never give up in face of the trials and tribulations. Sometimes you cannot make a success in a single shot. But if you take enough time to consistently pursue it, it is not unrealistic to achieve your ambition, even for a grandiose one.4.How do you balance life and work?Well. nowadays it is very hard to strike a balance between life and work, but still there are something I can do to achieve this. Firstly, I can better manage our time by working out a schedule before getting things started. In this way, I can fully concentrated on what I do at work and in the meantime spend some quality time with my family after work. Plus, although many tricky problems may bother me at workplace, I try not to think about them after work. I stick to the slogan “work hard and play hard”. Besides, I try my best to stay focused and improve my efficiency and productivity at work, so I don"t have to work overtime even if I have loads of work to to. That"s how I balance work and life. 5.Why are some people very ambitious in their work?There are several reasons for this. The first reason is that some people are enthusiastic about what they are doing at work, so it"s natural for them to have great passion for their work and set ambitious goals in it. Attaining them gives these people a sense of achievement. Besides, leaders play a significant role. If a leader can recognize a subordinate"s work and create favorable working conditions for him or her, then there is a high possibility that the employee would be motivated to have both short-and-long term goals and remain dedicated to realizing them. 编辑：Moon▼IDE英创教育
