题目大意

高中毕业生缺乏理财知识。原因是什么?如何解决?

思路解析

这是一道报告类题目。2021年的第二场考试,雅思官方终于出了一道新题,然后就把很多同学给考懵了。特别是在看完流程图小作文后就更懵了。

但这道题其实没有那么难,对于学生来说,理财其实主要就两件事:一是存钱(不乱花钱),二是会做合适的投资。明确这两个方向后,我们来看为什么学生缺乏理财知识。

一是没人教学生,不管学校还是家长,更多时候都只关注学生的学习*以及能不能……。学校里的课基本都是主课,体育课都快不保了,更别说有人上课去教学生理财知识了。

二是对于多数学生,因为本来就没什么收入和存款,很多时候要买东西也是需要父母同意并花钱。因此对他们当下来说,理财知识的用处并不大,所以也不会主动去关注和掌握相应的理财知识。

那么,明白了这两方面主要原因,也就能针对性得出解决方案。

提高学校和家长教授孩子理财知识的意识。家长可以让孩子去读一些基本理财知识的入门书籍(比如月半鸭以前读过一本《富爸爸穷爸爸》),来培养理财知识。通过“有偿做家务”之类方式,来培养孩子赚钱的意识以及知道赚钱的不容易。还可以通过教孩子记账的方式,来让孩子明白“收入”和“支出”的概念,甚至学会控制成本和预算。

而学校方面可以开设专门的理财知识课,作为一种选修课甚至必修课,在课堂上将一些专业的理财知识教授给学生。或者开展一些诸如“模拟投资”的金融比赛,让学生有机会去接触学习投资的知识内容,并且进行体验。

A lack of money managerial ability among high school graduates has become a commonplace conundrum that obsesses many countries recently. While many factors may contribute to this trend, I will attribute this problem to the imbalanced school education and media impacts, and then provide some practical suggestions accordingly. 

To identify the root reasons behind inadequate financial awareness among youngsters, we need to first understand the status que of high school education. Given the fierce competition to enter universities, high schools opt to prioritize students’ academic performance over other practical skills; on the list is the financial managerial competency. Another culprit we cannot afford to ignore is the advertising aimed at teenagers, which induces susceptible young minds to lead an extravagant lifestyle; those exposed to the ubiquitous advertisements are less likely to spend their money in a rational way.  

While the inadequacy of financial planning among high school graduates has been frowned upon in many countries, I will say there still something we can to do to curb this trend. One suggestion is to list financial management as a compulsory course in high school curriculum. When initiated into the area of knowledge during pre-university years, youngsters can be cultivated with basic consciousness how to manage their money. Another measure can be more stringent censorship of marketing on teenagers, which will mitigate the inducement of youngsters’ spending binge. 

From what has been discussed above, it is my conclusion therefore, the lack of financial managerial competency among younger generation is the result of inadequate high school education and misleading media. In response to this, an adjustment of high school curriculum and strengthened media censorship are needed to tackle the affliction.
